The “Fill The Media Lab” food drive to benefit local pantries is only five days old, but it’s off to a roaring start. Twenty different locations have been enlisted as drop-off sites. Pet food and supplies, as well as laundry detergent, are being collected too. And Post readers have so far donated 60 food items.

More than ever, food pantries across our area are in desperate need of help in assisting those less fortunate to put a meal on their families’ tables. The Mercury newspaper, The Posts, and other local news sites and bloggers are working together to meet that need. And we’re asking for readers’ help.
