Limerick’s representative in the state Senate, John Rafferty, thinks Gov. Corbett’s proposal to fund transportation improvements in Pennsylvania by $1.7 billion annually is too low. He’s hoping to bump that figure up by another billion to solve a variety of infrastructure problems.

After observing the Christmas holiday, contractors working on the reconstruction of U.S. Route 422 across Lower Pottsgrove will be back the nights of Dec. 26-30. Expect at least one eastbound lane to be closed then.

Say goodbye to manned toll booths on the Pennsylvania Turnpike within five years. Its commissioners plan to use an electronic tolling system, similar to one discussed last year in the doomed U.S. Route 422 tolling proposal.
