Trappe Marks King Day With Fire Company Collection

20130118-ChildsClothes-GoogleImagesTRAPPE PA – Members of the Trappe Fire Company, 20 W. Fifth Ave., will observe the 18th annual Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service by using the fire house as a collection point Monday (Jan. 21, 2013) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for donated items to benefit children-in-need from infants to age 12 who live in the five-county southeastern Pennsylvania area.

The collection supports “Cradles to Crayons,” a year-round program to provide free essentials to disadvantaged children by engaging and connecting with communities in need.

Area residents are asked to bring new or nearly new infants’ and children’s clothing, warm coats, hats, shoes, boots, gloves, newborn baby items, baby safety equipment, toys, books and school supplies. The fire house will be staffed by Cradles to Crayons’ volunteers.
