ROYERSFORD PA – Spring-Ford Area Senior High School students, families and alumni are anticipating a festive weekend Oct. 12 and 13 (2012; Friday and Saturday), when the school’s annual homecoming observances get under way.

The activities kick off Oct. 12 at 5 p.m. in Coach McNelly Stadium, behind the Ninth-Grade Center, 400 S. Lewis Rd., with a Powder Puff football game. Junior and senior girls will compete on the playing field, with junior and senior boys serving as cheerleaders. Tickets cost $5 per person at the gate, and all proceeds benefit St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
A parade featuring the talents of Spring-Ford High School’s championship Golden Ram Marching Band, its chorus, and the Spring-Ford Middle School Band will begin at noon Oct. 13. The route starts at Seventh Avenue and Washington Street, and continues down Seventh Avenue to Main Street. The parade will then turn left on Main and continue to Fifth Avenue, and then turn left onto Green Street, where it will end behind Coach McNelly Stadium.
The parade includes participation by various high school clubs. Athletic team members, school board members, local dignitaries, local fire companies and the Rowdy Ram will all make appearances.
The varsity football game against Methacton High School will begin at 2 p.m., but gates will open at 12:30 p.m. for pre-game festivities. Musical performances, as well as the introduction of the homecoming court, are planned. The winner of Spring-Ford’s homecoming queen contest will be announced at half-time.
