LIMERICK PA – Operators at Exelon Nuclear’s Limerick Generating Station returned its Unit 1 generator to full power Friday (Sept. 7, 2012) at about 11:40 p.m., the company reported. The unit was taken off-line on Sept. 1 for planned inspections of low-pressure turbine blades. Exelon said all inspections were completed satisfactorily.
“Plant personnel executed the planned outage safely and effectively,” according to Tom Dougherty, site vice president, who added “the inspections are part of our commitment to operate Limerick at the highest level of safety and efficiency.”
