Trappe Sets June Public Hearing On Street Construction

TRAPPE PA – A legal advertisement published Monday (May 14, 2012) on the order of the Trappe Borough Council announced that, during its June 5 (2012; Tuesday) meeting at 7 p.m., its members would conduct a public hearing on a proposed ordinance that defines the construction of streets, sidewalks and curbs intended for future dedication to the borough. HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Borough Council of the Borough of Trappe, Montgomery County, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, will hold a Public Hearing and consider the adoption of the following Ordinance on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, commencing at 7:00 p.m. at Borough Hall, 525 West Main Street, Trappe, Pennsylvania for the purpose of considering the enactment of an Ordinance, the full text of which is as follows: BOROUGH OF TRAPPE MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA ORDINANCE NO. ___ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 295 OF THE CODE OF THE BOROUGH OF TRAPPE (THE SUBDIVISION AND LAND DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE) FOR THE PURPOSE OF AMENDING SECTION 295-8, STREETS; 295-9, SIDEWALKS AND CURBS; AND SECTION 295-23, SURVEY MONUMENTS

BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED by the Borough Council, Borough of Trappe, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, and it is hereby ENACTED and ORDAINED by the authority of the same that the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance of the Borough of Trappe is hereby amended as follows: Section 1: Section 295-8 D(1) is hereby amended to read as follows: All streets offered for dedication to the Borough of Trappe and widening public streets: 1 inch bituminous wearing course, on 2 inch bituminous binder course, on 6 inch bituminous concrete base course (BCBC), on 6 inch 2A modified stone subbase. Section 2: Section 295-9 B(1) is hereby amended to read as follows: Concrete curb shall be installed on each side of all new or widened streets. Concrete curb shall be 18 inches deep, 7 inches wide at the top and 8 inches wide at the base. The normal distance from the top of the curb to flow line of the gutter shall be 8 inches. Section 3: Section 295-23 B is hereby amended to read as follows: Bench marks. The Borough elevations are based on the Borough Sanitary Sewer System Datum. Location and elevation is available to all engineers and surveyors upon request to the Collegeville-Trappe Municipal Authority office. All contours and elevations shown on plans must be based on the system. Section 4: Severability. In the event that any section, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance shall be declared illegal, invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such declaration shall not prevent, preclude or otherwise foreclose enforcement of any of the remaining portions of this Ordinance. Section 5: Repealer. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances inconsistent herewith or in conflict with any of the specific terms enacted hereby, to the extent of said inconsistencies or conflicts, are hereby specifically repealed. Section 6: Effective Date. This Ordinance shall become effective five (5) days after its enactment.
