Oaks Climbing Gym Sponsors 2012 Banff Film Festival

MALVERN PA – Lovers of extreme outdoor sports, and good movies, or both, likely will relish the 2012 return of the Banff Mountain Film Festival, scheduled for March 2 and 3 (Friday and Saturday) in Alumnae Hall of Immaculata University, 1145 King Road, Malvern PA.

Mountain climbing, skiing, snowboarding and more are covered in the series of films that differ each night. The national tour is sponsored locally by the Philadelphia Rock Gym, located in both Oaks and Coatesville PA.

Film titles on March 2 include Kadoma, Hanuman Airlines, Towers of the Ennedi, All.I.Can: The Short Cut, Reel Rock: Ice Revolution, The Man and The Mammoth, Ski Bums Never Die, and The Trail Collector; on March 3, Spoil, This is My Winter, Reel Rock: Sketchy Andy, Blue Obsession, C.A.R.C.A, Seasons: Fall, Seasons: Winter, and On Assignment: Jimmy Chin.

Doors open up at 6:30 p.m.; the shows begin at 7:30. Tickets cost $16.50 in advance and $19 at the door. To buy tickets or for more information call 610-647-4400. The gym is donating a portion of proceeds from the festival to the Schuylkill Canal Association of Mont Clare PA.
