Archbishop Honors Seven PJP Distinguished Scholars

ROYERSFORD PA – Seven students at Pope John Paul II High School in Royersford PA, named as “distinguished scholars” by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, will be among 163 young men and women recognized May 17 (2011; Tuesday) during the archdiocese’s 32nd annual Academic Honors Convocation.

Scheduled to be acknowledged by Cardinal Justin Rigali, Archbishop of Philadelphia, who will celebrate a 6:30 p.m. Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Philadelphia to mark the occasion, are PJP students Michael I. Gallagher, William E. Green, Mary Kathryn Kline, Thomas Mandracchia, David M. Nagel, Meghan Orner, and Christopher A. Rapp. The archdiocese released the list of those to be honored Friday (May 6).

Students named as distinguished scholars must be in the top 3 percent of their graduating senior class, according to the cumulative rank at the end of the first semester of their senior year.
