Phoenixville Project Named ‘Best Mixed Use’

PHOENIXVILLE PA – Franklin Commons, a multi-purpose commercial development at 400 Franklin Ave., Phoenixville PA, recently was named “Best Mixed Use Project in 2009″ by the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The project began in mid-2006 with the purchase of the 225,000-square-foot, 100-year-old former manufacturing plant by owners Dave and Marian Moskowitz. The building, which has had only four owners in its history, formerly served as a silk mill, and then housed operations for a carpet manufacturer and a plastics company.

It now contains an educational facility, with programs ranging from a nursery school to doctorate programs; a fine arts space, and eateries. Wifi service is available throughout Franklin Commons for those looking for a quiet place for work or recreation. Also part of the common area is Franklin Hall, a room and adjacent outdoor garden large enough for 1,000 guests attending seminars, conferences, trade shows, weddings, receptions or special events.

Renaissance Academy has purchased more than 100,000 square feet of space, and will move its kindergarten through 12th grade charter school to Franklin Commons in 2012. Space is still available for purchase or lease.
